Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose(HEMC)

Kehao Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose(HEMC) is a type of ethers createdby the chemical reaction of cellulose and ethylene oxide.lt is mainly used asadhesive protective gelatin, thicker agent and stabilizing agent as well asadditives.

Kehao Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether widely used in various fields, including water-based latex coatings, construction and building materials, printing inks, petroleum drilling and etc. lts main functions include thickening and water retention, improving workability, and being used fordry and wet mortar series products.
In the construction industry, MHEC is used as a water retaining agent, retarder.and adhesive. In the coatings industry, it is mainly used as a stabilizer, thickener, and dispersantin water-based latex coatings to improve workability and water retention.

HEMC In Cement Mortar

(1) Improve the mortar compatibility and enhance the mortar viscosity.
Incorporating HEMC facilitates the spreading of thin-layer mortar and plastering mortar. The thickening effect of cellulose ether mainly depends on: polymerization degree, shear rate, temperature, concentration of cellulose ether and concentration of dissolved salt.
(2) Keeping moisture from being lost.
Moisture in mortar can play the role of lubrication and mixing, and facilitate the scraping of thin-layer mortar and plastering mortar. Mixing cellulose ether helps to reduce the loss of moisture in thin-layer mortar, construction, wall bricks, blocks, etc. do not need to be wetted in advance, the construction of the cementitious material can also have a long enough time to continue hydration, to improve the adhesion of the mortar and the substrate.
